David González - Dire Straits

Childhood:

Mark Knopfler is the principal component of the group. He was born in 1949 in Glasgow. Is the second of three sons of Earwin Knopfler and Louisa Mary Laidler. When he was 9 years old his family and him moved to the city. And he started liking music listening to his uncle Kingsley playing boogie-woogie with the piano. During those years his father and his uncle pretend to teach him to play the piano and the violin. But Mark always prefer the guitar. With 15 years his father bought him his first guitar, a Hofner V2 Solid red and black. Then he started playing listening to some musicians like B.B. KingJ.J. CaleJimi Hendrix and Hank Marvin and he started practising in friends houses, and also playing in school parties. One of these events make him play in the TV in 1966, with only 16 years old, playing the song Chilly Winds.

After of that he study periodism and his career grew and grew.
